A fast closing is great—but only if it’s realistic.
If you’re told your loan can close in just a few days, don’t be afraid to ask a few important questions:
- Has the appraisal been completed or officially waived?
- Have my income documents been reviewed?
- Have my assets been verified?
- Has underwriting approved my loan, or is it still in the early stages?
If several of these steps haven’t happened yet, a very quick closing may not be realistic.
Every mortgage is different, and some loans truly can close quickly. But experienced loan officers know that a successful closing depends on preparation—not promises.
Choosing a lender based solely on the fastest closing date can lead to unnecessary stress if delays arise later in the process.
A lender who provides honest expectations, communicates regularly, and keeps your transaction on track is often far more valuable than one who simply promises the earliest closing date.
The goal isn’t just to close fast—it’s to close on time.
